CHAI began working in Burkina Faso in 2019 to support the government’s malaria control efforts through the scale-up of evidence based, high-quality interventions. Since then, CHAI’s portfolio of work has grown to include COVID-19 response, supporting the integration of sustainable health financing and primary healthcare, strengthening laboratory services, and addressing neglected tropical diseases. We work with the Ministry of Health to increase access to essential health services and move towards universal health coverage through improved financial planning, budgeting, and donor and domestic resource management in line with the country’s One Plan, One Budget, One Report vision. We work closely with directorates within the Ministry of Health, as well as with relevant stakeholders in districts and primary healthcare facilities. Through integrated support at various levels of the health system, we seek to help the government ensure key reforms and initiatives are informed by and impact the service delivery realities on the ground.
