CHAI began working in Burkina Faso in 2019 to support the government’s malaria control efforts and surveillance system through the scale-up of evidence based, high-quality interventions. Since then, CHAI’s portfolio of work has grown to include integrated support on sustainable health financing and primary healthcare, COVID19 response, and better laboratory services. We work together with the Ministry of Health to increase access to essential health services and move towards universal health coverage through improved financial planning, budgeting, donor, and domestic resource management in line with the country’s One Plan, One Budget, One Report vision. Our staff members work closely with various directorates within the Ministry of Health, as well as with relevant stakeholders in districts and primary healthcare facilities. Through integrated support at various levels of the health system, we seek to help the government ensure that key reforms and initiatives are informed by and impact the service delivery realities on the ground.
