As Chief Financial Officer, Jake Calhoun leads CHAI’s strategic direction and organizational development to maximize impact in global health. He is a finance and operations executive with over 15 years of experience scaling mission-driven organizations through periods of rapid growth and complexity.

Before joining CHAI, Mr. Calhoun served as CFO and later COO at One Acre Fund, where he helped grow the organization from $4 million to over $240 million in revenue. During his tenure, he built a high-performing strategic finance function, oversaw multi-country operations across sub-Saharan Africa, and led major systems and strategy transformations. Mr. Calhoun is also an entrepreneur and certified executive coach, having co-founded Wiser, an AI-powered leadership coaching platform, and founded Yum Deliveries, Kenya’s first food delivery app.

Mr. Calhoun holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia. He spent over ten years living and working in East Africa, based in Bungoma, Kenya and Kigali, Rwanda, and is now based in Washington, DC.
