Inessa Ba is the Regional Vice President for West and Central Africa at CHAI, where she is responsible for the strategic leadership and performance management of six francophone country programs across Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali, and Senegal. In this role, she works closely with country directors to strengthen programmatic and financial performance, build donor partnerships, and ensure country programs are well-positioned to deliver sustainable impact in partnership with their respective ministries of health.

Ms. Ba also serves as CHAI’s Country Director for Burkina Faso, where she grew the office from a small team to nearly 40 staff and expanded the program portfolio to ten active programs spanning malaria, health financing, community health, digital health, and access to medical oxygen.

Ms. Ba joined CHAI in 2014 and has worked across more than 15 countries in West, Central, and Southern Africa and South East Asia. Prior to her current roles, she served as Malaria and NTDs Senior Technical Advisor for Francophone Africa and as Senior Regional Manager for the Greater Mekong Subregion.

She holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Edinburgh, a dual Master’s in Legal and Financial Management and Political Science from Sciences Po Grenoble and Université Grenoble Pierre Mendès France, and a Bachelor’s in Political Sciences from Sciences Po Grenoble.
