Background
The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low- and middle-income countries. In Zambia, CHAI partners with the Ministry of Health to strengthen health systems and improve access to essential health commodities and services.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, CHAI supported the Government of Zambia to expand access to medical oxygen by strengthening oxygen production, supply, and distribution systems. Building on this foundation, CHAI is supporting the installation of Medical Gas Pipeline Systems (MGPS) as part of the broader cryogenic oxygen system supply project at Ndola Teaching Hospital and Kitwe Teaching Hospital. These systems will ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable delivery of oxygen and medical gases to critical wards, thereby improving the quality of care for patients.
Objective of the Assignment
The overall objective of this consultancy is to provide technical expertise in the design, supervision, and implementation support for MGPS installation works at Ndola and Kitwe Teaching Hospitals. The consultant will ensure compliance with international standards, safety requirements, and local regulations while delivering a cost-effective and sustainable solution.
