Request for proposals for a medical gas piping system engineer/consultant in the Democratic Republic of Congo

The submission deadline for this RFP has been extended to April 5, 2024.

The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a sub-grantee of FHI360 on the Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project, a global five-year project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). EpiC receives COVID-19 funding to prevent, prepare for, respond to, and bolster health systems to address COVID-19 and reduce cases of re-emergence. Part of EpiC’s COVID-19 program is to provide high-quality medical oxygen systems. FHI360 is the prime implementing partner for EpiC. In The Democratic Republic of Congo, the program will focus on providing services through the installation of piped oxygen systems in Clinique Universitaire de Kinshasa. In this context, CHAI invites eligible and qualified national or foreign companies to submit their proposals for the supervision of the medical gas piping system installation in Clinique Universitaire de Kinshasa.

Scope of work:

CHAI DRC seeks a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced individual or firm with outstanding organizational, analytical, communication, and technical expertise (in the field of Medical Gas Pipeline Systems (MGPS) to provide oversight of the MGPS installation at Clinique Universitaire de Kinshasa by an already selected third party vendor. The candidate must be able to function independently and provide project technical oversight for this EpiC-founded medical oxygen piping project at Clinique Universitaire de Kinshasa.

The individual or firm must have specialized knowledge related to the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of medical gas pipeline systems, strong quantitative and analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, be self-directed, be a problem solver, have a good understanding of International Organisation for Standardization (ISO) standards, quality assurance, control and work plan oversight, excellent project management skills, and be committed to excellence.
