This special release of CHAI and RHSC’s Family Planning Market Impact Memo outlines the significant risks to contraceptive procurement, supply chains, data systems, and reproductive health programs in low- and lower-middle-income countries following the withdrawal of USAID support earlier this year.
The memo shares insights based on data and information collected by CHAI from manufacturers and 12 countries in April 2025 (representing approximately 40 percent of USAID’s 2024 contraceptive procurement value). It is also supplemented by RHSC-managed data sources and convenings, including the Global FP Visibility and Analytics Network (VAN), insights from the RHSC Manufacturers Group, and other available information sources. The findings underscore the urgent need for coordinated, multi-stakeholder action to ensure continued access to life-saving contraceptive products. It also highlights the growing threat posed by declining global reproductive health funding.
