CHAI appoints former One Acre Fund COO as Chief Financial Officer

  • Previously COO and CFO at One Acre Fund
  • Led organization through growth from $4 million to over $240 million in revenue

January 12, 2026 – The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jake Calhoun as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He is based in Washington, DC and will oversee CHAI’s global finance strategy and global financial operations.

Mr. Calhoun joins CHAI from One Acre Fund, where he held the positions of CFO and later Chief Operating Officer, helping to scale the organization from US$4 million to over US$240 million in revenue. During his decade-long tenure, he built a high-performing strategic finance function, oversaw multi-country operations across sub-Saharan Africa, and led major systems and strategy transformations. He began work with CHAI on January 5, 2026.

About Jake Calhoun

Mr. Calhoun is also an entrepreneur and certified executive coach. He co-founded Wiser, an AI-powered leadership coaching platform, and founded Yum Deliveries, Kenya’s first food delivery app. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia. He spent over ten years living and working in East Africa, based in Bungoma, Kenya and Kigali, Rwanda.
